Until the mid 1970’s, Preston had a thriving Women’s Institute (W.I.). It then became felt that the constraints imposed by the national organisation were unsuitable for a small group. Hence the P.V.S. evolved from this, while retaining its original core values of community and friendship.

The Society meets in members homes each 3rd Wednesday in the month giving an informal atmosphere, but we have excellent speakers catering for a wide range of interests.

Home grown activities include a July barbecue , an August tea afternoon to support the local hospice, a Christmas get together and a January evening meal in the Village Hall.

Please see the Calendar or the Church and Village Newsletter for latest information.

We are always happy to welcome new members. Anyone wishing to join or learn more about us should contact Margaret Trinder.
