The Preston Trust: ‘Walks and Talks’ in our parish
Having been immersed in the research and writing of our Neighbourhood Plan in recent months, some of us have realised once again how much of important ecological and historical value we have, in this small parish. In order to share this knowledge with any interested parishioner, the Preston Trust organised visits to three sites, this summer/autumn. These ‘Walks and Talks’ were all free.
We had very kindly been given permission by three owners to view their properties, which are judged by the relevant government departments to be of national value.
Saturday, July 28th: Princess Helena College, a Grade2* Listed Building and a Grade2* Registered Landscape Park and Gardens, guided by Mike Kellard and Liz Hunter
Saturday, August 25th: Tudor House, Poynders End, a Grade 2* Listed Building, and its octagonal Dairy, a Grade 2 Listed Building, guided by Colin Heathcote
Saturday, September 29th: Wain Wood, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, guided by Rupert Bruce, Property Manager, Pilkington Farms Partnership, Kings Walden Bury Estate
All three ‘Walks and Talks’ were a great success and we hope to visit other sites next year.
