Food and garden waste collections to resume on 11 May
Weekly collections of food waste and fortnightly collections of garden waste (for paid subscribers) will resume on Monday 11 May, following their suspension on 30 March.
The services were suspended as a result of staffing shortages due to the coronavirus pandemic and the need to prioritise collection of recycling and refuse collections.
From 11 May, you should place your food caddy out for collection on the usual collection day. Brown garden waste bins will be collected on the same week as recycling collections as previously.
Unfortunately extra garden waste will not be collected if placed next to brown bins – it must all be contained within the brown bin.
NHDC will contact garden waste subscribers once a decision has been made on any measures such as extending the current subscription period, in light of the suspension to the service.
